Bodelschwingh Castle – Living and Working

The buildings around the inner courtyard of the moated castle which were formerly used for farming were converted into modern homes and offices in the 1980s. Since then, the estate has become home to around 45 people with their families.
Large and small companies from the fields of engineering, media, IT, music and medicine run their businesses in the castle grounds (see Overview and Resident Businesses).
With their beautiful green surroundings, the park, the water and the immediate vicinity to the castle, every workplace and every home here is quite out of the ordinary.

Living

The bright and spacious apartments (starting at approx. 100 m²) are modern and equipped to a high standard. Families value the almost complete absence of cars in the grounds, as well as the green lawns as a play area for their children. The expansive estate provides a protective and recreational space for both young and old.
The "castle community" cultivates lively interaction. The residents get together all year round for joint activities: a cosy chat on the seat outside the house, summery barbecue evenings, or a match on the private tennis court.

Working

The castle estate forms an idyll that is restful and relaxing, not only for the people who live here; companies and their staff find inspiration for their productive and creative tasks, peace and a place for important discussions. The modern offices can be adapted to the wishes of the tenants, if necessary. Excellent traffic communications and a central location in the Ruhr area also allow your customers ease of access.
