Welcome to the homepage of Bodelschwingh Castle in Dortmund! We are delighted at your interest in Bodelschwingh Castle and would like to give you the chance to have a "virtual" look around. The moated castle with its park and courtyard is one of the last estates in the Ruhr area still in private ownership. The castle has been the residence of the family since the 13th century. For centuries the buildings around the inner courtyard were used for agriculture. However, changes in agricultural policy have left their mark here: buildings no longer required for farming have been converted into homes and offices over the last 25 years. |

There is no museum or restaurant to be found here: the castle is not open to the public. So please understand when we ask you to respect the privacy of the owners and residents, and not to enter the courtyard. Instead you can have a look at some photos in the gallery and get an overview of the castle grounds. If you are looking for a nice apartment or modern office premises, you will find the relevant information on the following pages. The History of Bodelschwingh Castle provides a brief historical outline and further pictures. Frequently asked questions are answered in the FAQ. If you have any questions, please e-mail us. Best wishes, Felix Freiherr zu Inn- und Knyphausen |
